Sales Director

Job Summary

The Sales Director is responsible for working closely with the Directors, Vice Presidents and General Managers in Sales and Marketing, and other Adeptec Directors and Vice Presidents to lead improvement in the operational functioning of company-wide Sales operations. This responsibility will include both internal and external aspects of activities relating to new account sales and retention of existing accounts. This position will have a significant impact on the success of Adeptec Sales and Marketing strategy.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for setting the sell-over strategy and ensuring the successful account implementation in all market segments and regions.

2. Provides business leadership and ownership of SMART including setting the vision, priorities and ensuring SMART meets Sales and Marketing’s business and operational requirements.

3. Responsible for managing, improving and consistently administering the sales end-to-end process across all market segments and regions including defining and prioritizing SMART enhancements.

4. Responsible for the assessment of sales training needs and the delivery of appropriate sales training. This may include training in sales skills and process as well as other training and educational needs required of the sales employees to achieve sales goals.

5. Consults with other Sales and Marketing leadership to discuss, understand, and to help formulate improved sales and marketing strategy and direction.

6. Responsible for ensuring sales and retention processes support Adeptec’s sales and marketing strategy.

7. Plays an integral part of product improvement and successful implementation of new and enhanced products.

8. Assist the EVP of Sales and Marketing with critical strategic/tactical projects as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

1. College degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.

2. Eight years management experience in IT-related business.

3. Five years in sales and/or marketing.

4. Experience selling SolarWinds IT management software and monitoring tools (Preferred).

5. Three to five years experience in quantitative analysis, either in a marketing, finance, or operations environment.

6. Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

7. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

8. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

9. The ability to build, to develop, and to lead teams.

10. Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Additional Qualifications

1. Advanced degree in appropriate and related field of study.

2. Solid background and/or understanding of IT trends and technologies.
